Sometimes you just need to get in the studio and play.
As a working photographer, I cover events, portrait commissions, PR jobs and more. The majority of these are of course, client led. The project isn't mine and has predetermined themes, styling and intent.
So It's good to fuel the soul. Put some time into falling in love with photography again and being in complete control of the direction of the photographs produced.
I put some time in at the studio the other night. Arkwrights studio is a great new space over in Nottingham. It's huge, and is perfect for a variety of work. I use it when I need studio space for commercial requirements. It's easy to find, cosy and creative and of course, helps to really settle into the the job.
I had Mara with me. Mara is an agency represented model with Model Students. The agency based over at Nottingham University.
Mara is fresh, cool and awesome!
Together, we shot a variety of work in a relatively short space of time.
At the end of the day, there was no commercial application here. There was no commission, no expectations and no pressure!
Every now and again, just spending some selfish time in the studio reignites the energy, and sets you up for the next job round the corner.
Well done team!
