As a photographer, shooting with models makes sense.
Models, both professional and not, enable us to explore ideas, options and more knowing that the image output might work, it might not but either way we haven't really lost anything as there was no professional commission to worry about.
It's basically a great opportunity to play about and see what happens.
Ash is a Model in Derby. I've shot with her a few times and she has a great attitude that makes life eaiser.
I recently explored the idea of putting a photostudio in the Derby Market Hall. Upstairs on the balcony.
Ash came to 'play' and try out the space.
We ran through a few options and borrowed some gear from 'Threadz vintage' the preowned fashion goods store on in the next unit. (Check out street-fashion.co.uk)
In short, although the market studio idea was a good one, there were too many barriers and cons that just didn't balance the pros...
But what we did do was to get some nice portraits and awesomeness with Ash so despite a lot of sitting around twiddling my thumbs, it was time well spent!
